Get your 'skate on'
The sport of Roller Derby is making a comeback world wide, and this summer Roller Derby is coming to Eagle County. WECMRD has formed a recreational flat track Roller Derby league. The league is looking for skaters and non-skaters to learn and play the sport of Flat Track Roller Derby in a recreational environment. Skating and non-skating officials are also needed, as well as women 18 and up to skate.
- Modern derby is way different than the derby of the 60s & 70s and fighting is not allowed.
- You do not need to know the rules or how to skate -that's what practice is for.
- All you need is quad roller skates, a helmet, and pads for knees and elbows.
- Can't skate? No worries, the league also needs non skating officials and coaches.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions, or if you would like to register for the league over the phone.
Also, please help spread the word to your friends and family members. We are still in need of some non-skating officials and help with scorekeeping. We are looking forward to a great Derby season!!
